White Horse Group was established somewhere in the 1970's, possibly late 70's. We have pieced together the group's history from about 1978 onwards with names of leaders and events that took place etc. but are always open to anyone who might know something about the Group's history from before then, or any information written here that may have mistakes in it, dates etc. are taken to the year that we can remember them, however, here again help would be appreciated from those in the know. Anyone is welcome to contact the Webmaster if they have any information that can be added to this page, or any other for that matter.

1978 to early 1980's: The Pack used to meet on a Friday afternoon at Randpark Primary School. We would hold our meetings in the area under the school stage or on the grass at the back of the school hall. The Akela at the time was Marion Pointon. Marion would move onto run the Honeydew pack, but later return as a pack helper and adult layperson to White Horse when her two sons, Neil and Alec became involved in scouts.
As far as we recall Marion was then replaced by a Mrs Phelps. The Phelps family was instrumental in the initial setup and running of the group with Mr Phelps being involved with the Scout Troop. He later moved on to higher callings within the district.

The pack again got a new Akela with Wendy Morgan taking over the pack and then running it very successfully for a number of years (About 7 to 8 years).

All this was the footing you needed to become a SCOUT in the WHITE HORSE TROOP
